Routeburn Track, Climbing to 1255 metres, NZ Great Walks #2 ๐ โ ๐ฅพ
On the second day of my solo hike of the Routeburn Track and Greenstone Tracks I hiked from the Routeburn Falls Hut, up and over the Harris Saddle at 1300 metres above sea level and then down to the McKenzie Lake and Hut.
Most of the day was spent above the tree line and as I traversed Ocean Peak, the clouds came in and I was caught in a whiteout.
Overnight the rain had come in and it didnโt stop the whole day! Highlights of the day include the Routeburn Falls, Harris Lake, Harris Saddle and McKenzie Lake. Fortunately I was able to again change my campsite booking to a bunk at the McKenzie Hut.
